Nahar Amrit Shakti Udyan – Miyawaki Forest

About the Park

Nahar Amrit Shakti Udyan is a large urban Miyawaki forest located within Nahar's Amrit Shakti township at Chandivali, Mumbai. Spread across approximately 33,000–34,000 sq. m., the forest contains more than 41,000 trees representing 79 plant species, together with shrubs and flowering plants. It was developed using the Miyawaki reforestation technique to create a dense, multi-layered urban forest within a highly developed part of Mumbai. The forest functions as a green ecological zone that supports biodiversity, improves air quality, helps reduce urban noise and heat, and provides residents with a natural environment for walking and relaxation. The project has also received national attention, including a mention by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during Mann Ki Baat, where it was described as one of Mumbai's largest Miyawaki forests, with more than 41,000 plantations spread over approximately 13 sylvan acres in that reference
